Provisional Programme

The Furnace Solutions conferences deal entirely with ‘practical’ glassmaking issues - of interest and benefit to both glass manufacturers and their specialist furnace equipment and materials suppliers. These informal meetings allow delegates to share their experiences and, hopefully, propose solutions to some of the glass melting challenges of today.
These annual meetings attract delegates and speakers from the UK, mainland Europe and the longer-haul distances of Turkey, the Middle East, Israel, Japan and the USA. In previous years, attendees, representing most of the world’s major glassmakers and equipment suppliers, have travelled from almost 20 countries.
The Furnace Solutions conferences cover the key areas of raw materials and glass compositions, furnace design and refractories, glass melting, energy efficiency and pollution control. A main theme is selected for each meeting –  for Furnace Solutions 5 it will be cost reduction and maximising furnace life.
